Daily Life

The day breathes around the work.

No screens on the walls. No schedule imposed on the imagination. Only the château, the estate, and the work you came here to make.

07:30

Breakfast in the orangerie

Warm bread, fruit from the potager, coffee poured by the resident chef. Conversations kept low and unhurried.

09:00

The long morning

The finest hours of the day, held for the studio. Doors closed. Nothing asked of anyone.

12:30

A slow lunch

Set outdoors beneath the linden trees when the weather agrees, in the vaulted kitchen when it does not.

15:00

Studio visit or masterclass

A curator, a gallerist, a visiting artist — invited to look closely and speak honestly.

18:00

The garden hour

A walk through the park, a swim, a book left open in the grass. Whatever the day still asks for.

20:30

Dinner by candlelight

A single long table. Local vignerons. Wine from the neighbouring domaines. Conversation until the stars are out.

A different measure of time

Hours that give something back.

Coffee beneath the plane trees, before the house has fully woken. Long uninterrupted mornings in the studio. A walk through the potager, a book in the library, an easel carried into the garden as the afternoon turns.

The estate

Sixty hectares of forest, meadow and formal jardin à la française — as much a studio as any room in the house.

A life in French

Slower days, deeper company.

Afternoons among neighbouring vignerons and Romanesque abbeys. Truffle dinners in the autumn, plein-air weeks when the light returns in spring. Excursions never scheduled, always offered.
