Restored by artisans, dressed in Belgian linen and left largely alone. Herringbone floors, tall shutters, a writing desk beneath the window, and beyond it the park — an entire wing of silence to sleep in.

The table

One long table, every evening.

Breakfast in the orangerie, lunch beneath the linden trees, dinner by candlelight with wine from the neighbouring domaines. Meals are the only appointment the house insists upon.
